that definitely could be the case.but no one would really have any way of knowing. i'm sure that seconds after the rapure there will be utter world-wide chaos. but seconds before i'm sure it will seem like just a very normal day for most people.

The word does carry that type of imagery with it. As it relates to the tribulation, yes a pre-trib rapture would be in the nick of time. While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. Does this imply something? :idunno

I'm not really sure of the timing, since God says it will be when nobody expects it. It stands to reason that if things get really bad, we'd be expecting it.

At the same time, he said that we should not be taken by surprise, so that tells me to watch the signs so I will know when He is coming. Things getting really bad is a pretty good sign.

If it happened "out of the blue", the world will go crazy trying to figure out what happened, setting the stage for the huge "deception" (which I think is the Islamists claiming their Mahdi wiped us off the earth). If it happened while we were in the middle of a catastrophic war or other disaster...the disappearance of millions might not be as big a headliner.

Either way...I hope it's very soon! :pray

I've always believed this for several reasons.

In the context of the Rapture, both Peter and Jesus gave us the analogy of Noah and S&G - in both cases, both families were spared from catastrophy - just in the nick of time.

It would also serve as a deception and obscure the reality of the Rapture. If some regional or world-wide "event" took place just prior to the rapture, then the rapture could be obscured.
