Last week I felt the Lord telling me to start titheing. I have tithed in the past but only a few dollars. I have 4 kids and we live on my husbands pay so that I can stay home. We go without a lot of things sometimes. Anyway I felt led to tithe. I was going to tithe 10 percent, that would have been 130.00. The Lord said 150.00, that left me with 5 dollars in the bank. I had 100.00 to buy 1 weeks groceries and no gas money. So I wrote the check and prayed. My husband came home and asked me if we had enough money to send the kids to camp with our church this year.The money was due Sunday. We had to have 150.00 to send them. I told him either we rob God and send them or we tell them after church they can't go. I also told him that I felt God telling me to let go and not worry no more and that I needed to tithe every other week. Be obediant .Test him on this. sooooooo. I wrote the check.
I then went shopping on saturday and I knew I had more than 100.00 in my cart. I prayed father if I don't get the basics we will go a little bit hungry here, so shut up my son's mouth like you did the lions for daniel so he won't eat it all when I get home. So I went through the line and the total was 94.00
I about cracked up laughing. I am happy to report it is now thursday and all the food has lasted up until today. My son has not ate evrything yet.:aha I also didn't need gas for my car it lasted all week.
Now on Sunday I went to church and my hubby went and left my tithe check at home. Not on purpose, he's just absent minded. So I told him go back and get it ,and tithe it. As he went back, I was up in my sunday school classroom. (I teach 3 and 4th graders). I was praying Lord help me be able to break the news to my kids about camp. Just then A sweet lady from our church came into my room and said " yvonne, I have had the lord all week telling me to write you a check so that your younguns can go to camp". I burst into tears. She wrote me a check for 150.00 . The same exact amount I was told to tithe. :thumb Before sunday, everytime I turned on the christian station it was on firstfruits, and titheing. As I did my bible study I read about robbing God. Then at church we had a guest speaker and he preached on being good stuarts of God. Now that is what I call a lesson from God.:yeah
