By Jan Markell:

If you haven’t heard of “A Course in Miracles” or the proposed “Peace Alliance,” then please pay attention. “New Age” queen Oprah Winfrey is promoting both, and it seems that what Oprah wants she gets due to her financial status and her loyal fans.

Starting January 1, 2008, she began a daily feature on XM Satellite Radio featuring “A Course in Miracles”—one lesson a day. And also this year, she will have her own television network.
Marianne Williamson has picked up and run with the “Miracles” course, which was channeled to a woman back in the 1960s. In 1965 Helen Schucman heard an “inner voice” saying, “This is a course in miracles—please take note.” For seven years she took spiritual dictation from a demon who said he was “Jesus.” “A Course in Miracles” has now become the “New Age” bible.

Here are a few statements from the course:

* There is no sin.

* The journey to the cross should be the last “useless journey.”

* Do not make the pathetic error of “clinging to the old rugged cross.”

* The Name of “Jesus” is just symbolic of all the gods to which you pray.

* The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself.

* The “atonement” is the final lesson man needs to learn, for it teaches him that, never having sinned, he has no need of salvation.

This should come as no surprise in these latter days as the Bible is clear that some will not give heed to sound doctrine but rather listen to the doctrine of demons (II Tim. 4:3,4).

But the story of Oprah’s and Williamson’s push for all things unusual and unrighteous does not stop here. Williamson is trying to get a Cabinet level seat as a part of the “Peace Alliance” push by the two women. Check out the U.S. Department of Peace website.

Think about what the Bible has to say about peace apart from the Prince of Peace. It says it will be a futile effort and even bring destruction (I Thess. 5:3). The Antichrist will play off of peace, but Daniel says “by peace he shall destroy many” (Dan. 8:25). Yet Oprah and friends believe this “Peace Alliance” will usher in an era of global peace founded on “New Age” spirituality. They refer to it as a “civil rights movement of the soul.”

We live in strange and deceptive times so to sharpen your discernment, visit our “Spiritual Deception” category at the Web site. As believers, let us thank God for the real course in miracles. It’s called the Bible.

Radio Note: Warren Smith is one of the best expounders on these issues for when he was a “New Ager,” he was caught up in such things, particularly “A Course in Miracles.” Hear my hour with him on “Radio Archives” for February 2, 2008, hour one. He outlines his story in his book, “From the New Age to Amazing Grace” available in my print newsletter and soon on my Web site.

I've heard about this...and look at how many people believe what she says and they take it as gospel. She's going to lead thousands into hell with her. We need to pray that God will show her that Jesus is the only true way.

In 2002, Christianity Today published an article called "The Church of O" in which they concluded that Winfrey had emerged as an influential spiritual leader. "Since 1994, when she abandoned traditional talk-show fare for more edifying content, and 1998, when she began 'Change Your Life TV', Oprah's most significant role has become that of spiritual leader. To her audience of more than 22 million mostly female viewers, she has become a postmodern priestess—an icon of church-free spirituality."[82] The sentiment was seconded by Marcia Z. Nelson in her book The Gospel According to Oprah.[83] On the season premier of Winfrey's 13th season Roseanne Barr told Winfrey "you're the African Mother Goddess of us all" inspiring much enthusiasm from the studio audience. The animated series Futurama alluded to her spiritual influence by suggesting that, a thousand years from now, a religion known as "Oprahism" exists.

I have always thought Oprah was a very devout Christian. I see now that is not the case. Since there is a book called "The Gospel According to Oprah" and she didn't decline this, then I have changed my mind and I am truly disgusted. :praying Oprah sees the TRUE light of the TRUE Jesus. COME WITH US OPRAH!

AMEN! :pray:pray

It's a shame SO many women look up to her even for guidance... Look how many books get sold after she features them on her show. Pray for her to become a witness for the only TRUE God! Imagine the possibilities!

Hi, guys ~ I'm a newbie, but had to jump in here. This is deadly. It makes my heart hurt. Oh, how deceptively Satan uses religion to attract the world away from Christ. Here is an excerpt of the online course:

One holy thought like this and you are free: You are the holy Son of God Himself. And with this holy thought you learn as well that you have freed the world. You have no need to use it cruelly, and then perceive this savage need in it. You set it free of your imprisonment. You will not see a devastating image of yourself walking the world in terror, with the world twisting in agony because your fears have laid the mark of death upon its heart.

Praying Oprah turns to JESUS soon and stops leading others down the path to hell with her New-age promotions ..:fear..
her $$$ wont do her much good very soon as soon as the Tribulation starts....:nuke and theres destruction and chaos everywhere..:panic
.
unfortunately it will take the Trib. for many to turn to JESUS, as they are stubborn and blinded now to the truth...:candle
Then they'll have to make it past the "strong delusion" that GOD is sending..:doh

Soon you'll be having people call her God and worshiping her. It looks like its leading down that path.

I used to have a lot of respect for Oprah about 10 yrs ago or so, but her new stance on New Age is leading millions of folks down the wrong path and its lethal because she influences so many.. but I guess that is what Satan has in mind.

It's sad she moved away from her Christian roots and was changed by her power and money. I pray for her as well.

Weird, i've watched Oprah years ago and i never even considered her a christian.
She's clearly a humanist with strong new age ties and i already knew that before 2000.
I'm baffled why any christian would think she's a christian, she never mentioned Jesus as the only way to the Father in any of her shows and only came with mortal answers to problems. :idunno
