I thought maybe I'd start this baby countdown here. I hope this is o.k?!
My daughter, Cheryl, is due with MY FIRST Grandbaby, a girl, named "Anna Kate" on Feb 23rd.
Cheryl is huge. (sorry Cher Cher:hug) All baby!
At her last appt, a week ago, no action and the ultrasonagrapher thought the baby is around 7 pounds.
Also.. the doc. said it is "possible" she may need a c-section due to a "septum" and it's possible bleeding. Does anyone know about this or has had one?
This is still questionable.
Cheryl's next appt is on the 11th so we will know more then.
I am too excited. I live 5 hours away and if she has a normal delivery I will be IN THE ROOM! yay! I will drive down there at 90mph if necessary! :heh If not, I will still be there, going crazy outside the door as only daddy Chris gets to go in.
I also thought Janh7 could post her "wait" as a grandma here too! Janh? what is your upcoming granddaughter's name??:hug

Is he talking about this?
# Diastasis of the Symphysis Pubis
# Symphysis pubis dysfunction
# Symphysiolysis
(Basically all the same thing, it means you have pelvic girdle pain due to it being stretched and weighed down by the baby)
I can't remember the exact wording, but there are a lot of women who are told when their babies are 7-12lbs that they can't give birth and 'must' have a C-section because of pelvic girdle pain or complications.
Another contributing factor for induction and or C-section is "Failure to progress" (In other words, the doctor not wanting to wait more than 2 weeks past his/her estimated due date), or CPD (http://www.americanpregnancy.org/labornbirth/cephalopelvicdisproportion.html)
(there are many women my size and bigger in the pelvis that are told this too, and it makes you kinda wonder sometimes if docs have a required amt of C-s that they have to do rather than there being actual complications)
There was a rather tasteful (Depending on your POV) video about CPD on youtube (lemme know if you wanna see it)...

He could be talking about the recto-vaginal septum too. That would be a real concern and good reason to have a C-section. If it is that... yikes!

i homestly don't think that they have a required amount to do. they give you options for what is best for you and your baby

Is he talking about this?I believe it is transverse v. septum
Thank you for all the excitement!! I'm about to do crazy! I have my suitcase totally packed at the bottom of my bed. It's been like this for a month already! Pretty soon, I'll have to switch out clothes for warmer weather!

How exciting for you and your family, Sing!
I had 2 C-sections. Of course that was over 30 yrs. ago. LOL!
Anyway, I'm not familiar with your daughters problems, but in my case my first was delivered by C-section after 12 hrs. of labor. I just didn't diolate past 2 centimeters, even after all that labor. The second was a scheduled C-section as the doc. said that they couldn't anticipate if I'd have the same problem again the second time. I had the old fashioned kind with the vertical incision, right up the middle. These days they do the bikini cut. Low and horizontal incision. They say that's a much easier recovery from that as not as many major muscles are cut.
I had no complications from either C-section and I recovered very quickly both times, but especially after the second one, because I didn't have to go through those 12 hrs. of labor with the second.
Both boys very healthy and have given me 9 grandchildren. :-)
