On the one hand, remember that no-one is saved without the PERSONAL intervention and urging of the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Himself asserted that He knows His sheep and will not lose a single one. That's right, no human ever converted another to salvation by their own efforts. This is not to mean that we can sit back and watch and do nothing! It means that even if you didn't put the Word out, that person will hear It from somewhere anyway if they are truly saved, and if they're not, no amount of work on your or anyone's part will change that. All we can do is perform our Duty as ordered, as befits a faithful servant who was chosen to be saved. I have no friends left of my former circle, on account of persistently and lovingly exposing them to the Word. Doesn't say much for my choice of friends before I answered His knocking, but all that is left is to pray for them. The devil hates us praying, so GO TO IT!
