Interesting story I heard today, the details may not exactly be the same but the gist of it is there...
A little boy asked his father how much money he made at work.
The father responded "It's none of your business!" and was very upset at his son. He was thinking how dare his son ask him such a question.
His son looked down - a bit dejected.
Then the father angrily said "Fifty dollars an hour!"
The son then asked his dad "Can I have $25?"
The first thing the father thought about was - what was this money for - a new game? - what was his son going to waste his money on? The father was boiling inside and replied "No, you cannot have $25! Now go to your room and get to bed!"
Thoughts of what had just transpired angered the father. How dare his son ask him how much he makes and then ask for some money.
About an hour later the dad cooled down and thought - oh, maybe his son needed the money for some necessary school supplies or the like. And his son had not come to request money very often. Maybe it was something his son really needed.
So the father went to his son's room and said "Son, are you still awake?"
To that, the son replied "Yes I'm awake dad."
The father said "Here's $25." and handed his son the money.
The son sat straight up, took the money, then reached under his pillow for more money.
The father saw the money and nearly exploded. He said "Why do you need so much money?! What are you going to do with all that money?!" He was visibly upset with his son.
His son began counting the money...
The dad said with a harsh voice "And what, are you going to ask me for more money?!"
The son replied "No, I have enough..."
The son continued "I have exactly $50. Can I buy an hour of your time and have dinner with you tomorrow?"
