I can hardly get my mouse to work anymore, and it takes so long to type things!
When I click on things, nothing happens, then, minutes later, everything I clicked on tries to open all at once!
It is SO hard to get anything done.
Bought a new mouse, same problem. Both are wireless.
Please help- took so long to type this!

Where is your receiver located? Try and place it like only 6 inches from your KB and mouse. Does this help with lag problems? What type of batteries in the KB and mouse? Are they giving enough power or almost dead? What brand and model number did you buy? Is your computer fairly new ie USB 2.0.

I've tried it closer, doesn't help. The batteries are brand new in the new mouse, and the problem is the same in the older mouse.
The computer is a few years old, and I have checked the help files. It sounds like it could be low on virtual memory.
Any ideas on how to increase the memory?
Thanks!

If it is a memory problem...have you deleted your cache/temp files? Do that first.
If you want to delete temp/cache and increase memory...this is what I recently did...go to start menu, click on settings, click on control panel, click on Internet options, an internet properties box opens...on the general tab/page you will delete cookies and then delete files, when you are done with that you can click on the settings button that is next to delete files button you just used. To increase temp. memory space just change the number in the box or slide the bar over to allow for more space for temp files. Mine is set at 1020mb now...no idea what is typical or anything, I had changed internet services and kept getting error messages due to space and picked a number. :)

So you had the same problem on your old wireless mouse?
Did you install the specific driver software for the wireless mouse and keyboard?
Do you have a wired mouse and KB that you could attach and see if everything works at normal speed?
I don't think memory would be a problem IMO. Could you post your system specs ie cpu/memory/operating system?

sounds like spyware or adware is hogging your system

Well, I ran Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware before coming here with my problem, with no luck. I also ran Win Doctor and Disc Doctor from my Norton Systemworks disc, and that did not work either.
Finally, last night, I loaded the whole Systemworks on my computer, rather than just running each program off the disc, and I ran everything again. This time it found over 100 errors and fixed them, and finally my mouse and keyboard seem to be working fine again.
Thank you all for trying to help me! I had been having problems for several days and after working on it all afternoon yesterday after church, something finally did some good.
You are all such a blessing here, and so generous with your time- thanks again for trying to help!

He's probably been using the computer while I'm at work and messed it up!
Like the cartoon that shows two cats at the computer, and one says to the other "Cool, I just sold the dog on EBAY!" :lol2
