Does anyone have this problem? I have a 11 year old boy who is a really cute kid. I also have 11 year old girls calling at 11:45p.m on the phone for him. Benny only has eyes for one girl at school, but the other girls call all the time to talk. How do I say politely to knock it off, It's driving me crazy:idunno

We tell our 17 year old boy, our only one, not to talk on the phone past 9:00. On occasion he's gone past that time, but not to much. I would never, ever allow a phone call at 11:45. I would be on the phone with the parents if the girls don't comply with your request. :hug

When my oldest boy was in middle school, his bed time was 9:00. He had a friend who called almost nightly to find out about homework assignments at 9 or later. I would always tell him that it was too late for our son to take phone calls. This went on for months. I talked to his mother about it and it still continued. I guess he finsally realized that it didn't matter how often he called that late, I wasn't going to let him talk to my son. My experience taught me that I just had to be consistent and eventually the kid would get the message.

My question is, what is 11 year old girls doing making phone calls that late at night, anyhow? Whatever happened phone calls in the evening? Wonder if they are sneaking on the phone?

Yea, and why are 11 year old girls even allowed to call boys at all. I never allowed my daughter to call boys at that age, especially ones she had a crush on. Now she's 17, as of today, and she has several boys who are friends, and they all text each other but at 11, NO WAY. You may have to block their phone numbers.

We have had a no call rule at my parents after 8.... :idunno
I wasn't allowed to call boys, and then we moved overseas when I was around 11 and stayed until I turned almost 14 (we moved back just before my birthday :hat)... and lived off base - so any calls were made by adults as they were 1 Peseta per call... Long distance being way more than that at the time.
When we came back stateside, us girls never called boys, and if we did it was only to return a phone call they made to us... and still the 'no calls after 8' rule.
I try to run by that rule here in Germany with my DH and I, unless we're calling the US which is 7 hrs backwards to talk to my parents or bro/sis, and 6 hrs backwards to talk to my extended relations on the East coast... so if I call any earlier I'd be catching someone not long after they'd woken up if I don't play my cards just right. :aha
I found I'm so used to the rule that I almost panic if we get a call after 8 - as there must be something wrong for them to call that late. :doh More times than not though, it's my DH's best friend wanting help after dinner on his online server or with the RPG he's trying to figure out. :lol2
I just know my DH will think I'm über strict or something, but I think it's just rude for kids to be calling (or telemarketers or family) after 8, as that's generally around the time you get kids settled for bed, or you're settling for bed... and I certainly don't want the kids talking on the phone to the opposite sex until a certain age (over 16) :ohno... yes.. the 'ebil' Puritanical mommy... :lol2

I would be ticked if anyone called my house at midnight to talk to one of my kids!!! My kids and all their friends are in bed by then. My oldest is almost 10 and I sure we may have this issue as he already has 14 year olds starting at him, but if one child called my house at that time. I would call back (right after) and have a chat with their parents.

No calls after 9 was and is the rule in our house too. I'm old fashioned about the girls calling boys as well.
I'd be calling the girls parents, and honestly, I'd be asking my son why it is they continue to call when HE knows it's not cool? If he would tell them to stop calling, there would not be a problem, yeah?

Weird, definitely weird that a 11 year old is allowed on the phone at 23:45. :ohno
I mean, i know several grown up people i wouldn't be able to call at that time and i sure don't expect to be called by anyone except for emergencies.
What has this world come up to. :runhills

I was aloud to talk to boys on the phone when I was that age, one of them I liked, but that may have been mainly because those two were my only friends (I was painfully shy, I've gotten a little better). Never that late though, only after nine if I had been told to call back after a certain amount of time (Like, in the middle of a conversation, one of us had to go do somthing, and said to call back in five min.). It was pretty innocent too with the one I like, we talked about church and he played his Euphonium for me over the phone.
