I have searched for a post in reference to the new Nearing Midnight Commentary... is anyone disturbed about today's new one: "Why Atheists Can't Leave God Alone" It upset me so much that I haven't even read the second article. If there is another thread about this, please point me in the right direction...
I am a fairly new member even though I have been a "lurker" for awhile, and I have been visiting RR daily for several years. This still disgusts me and makes me feel very protective of my family here.

Ive been gone a while, but remember accusing most atheists of being here not to find answers but to stir up trouble and doubt among new christians.

My accusation didnt go over too well with some, I recall.

So, I enjoyed the commentary bringing the issue up front
that we are intentionally targeted for disruption by atheist groups.

Some members spent much effort and time trying to convert atheists here, and were
probably just getting messed with.

Other members probably considered it a chance to hone their debating skills.
To me, it all seemed a waste of time.

I can't get this out of my mind! Instead of sitting here getting steamed, I am praying for their salvation. They can say whatever they want to about us, I will keep praying for them-
Please do not do an internet search unless you are prepared for what they are saying about Rapture Ready.

I have noticed the odd troll. Unfortunately, they are not always immediately obvious. What I find amazing is that many of them appear to know something of scripture yet still reject God. They provide an opportunity for us to share the Gospel.

And I think Anddrai hit the nail on the head with this one. I spend a lot of time in Apologetics, and enjoy talking to the atheists that are truthful enough to identify themselves.

As for the rest, the ones posing as someone they are not, they may be surprised to someday have something one of us said to them start eating at them. One little verse, one little word, or one little kindness worming its way into their hearts, and then into their minds. Try as they might, they won't be able to get the thought out of their heads, and so they check out the scripture for themselves, or return to ask some more questions, trying to convince themselves that they are "just pulling a joke on the Christians." The Holy Spirit works in interesting, subtle, and yes, mysterious ways sometime.

And, if they do harden their hearts, its not for our hearts to be troubled, the Great Shepherd Himself knows what's going on, and knows how to deal with wolves. Our "job" is to speak the truth in love, and when we can, help protect our fellow sheep from those seeking to do real harm.

I believe God can do much more Good with there attempts then the damage
that they think they will inflict. Let them come, more potential to reach them.:thumb

God will do what he wants to do.
