Everyone knew that this was coming in this "globalized" economy, except some of the European officials who still somehow cling to the idea that they are immune to economic reality.

Eurozone growth slows significantly

Eurozone growth halved in the final months of last year, confirming that a significant slowdown is under way – even if it is not yet dramatic.

Gross domestic product in the 15-country region expanded by 0.4 per cent in the fourth quarter, after 0.8 per cent growth in the previous three months, according to Eurostat, the European Union’s statistical office. Italy’s economy is thought to have contracted.

But the eurozone still grew faster than the 0.2 per cent fourth-quarter growth reported by the US, and countries such as Spain and the Netherlands showed surprising robustness. In spite of fears that Spain is on the brink of a sharp, construction-led slowdown, Spanish GDP increased by 0.8 per cent, after 0.7 per cent in the third quarter.http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8UQFF0O0&show_article=1&catnum=2
