I think Amity has tracts in Chinese. Or maybe something you can print out.

Edited to add-I thought they had tracts. But can't find them on their website. So much for that idea.

Try chick.com or Bibles Unbound they ship to China so they might sell you one.

Hey... I just went to a Chinese New Year celebration here in town where over 1000 Chinese attended and handed out tracts printed in Chinese. I got them for free here....

They actually have all kinds of languages and you can get as many as you want for free!! But just be sure to use them... :)

Try this: www.multilanguage.com Not sure if they do online ordering; you might have to use their 1-800 number posted on their site. But you can see in their online catalog what languages they have and the Bibles/books/tracts that are available in each one.

Wow, those last two are neat; I've added them to myfavorites under "Tracts."
I was going to suggest a missions board, they might know how to get to one; but those ones posted seem easier. Although, the Bible might be easier from a contact provided by a missions board; I haven't looked to see if the two sites posted had Bibles or just tracts/Gospels of John or something.

If the doctor is from Beijing, then he speaks Mandarin. Even if the doctor's native language is Cantonese (or one of China's many other dialects) he should still be able to read the Bible with no problem.
What you need to consider is whether he prefers complex characters or simplified characters. If he spent the majority of his life in Hong Kong or Taiwan, he prefers materials written in complex characters. If he spent the majority of his life in mainland China (since you said he is from Beijing, that is the case) he prefers simplified characters.
If you want to surprise him with a Bible, just causally ask him this question:
"When you read Chinese, do you prefer reading complex characters or simplified?"
Then when you order your materials be sure and specify which of the two you want. There are some regular Christian book stores that carry Chinese materials, but they won't be able to tell you which of the two their materials are. Make sure whoever you buy it from knows the difference between complex and simplified characters.

Wow; I knew there were different dialects, but I had no idea even the characters were different. Amazing.
I would say it's all Greek to me, but dozens of readers aare no doubt thinking of the same punch line. :hehee
