I was looking at going to thsi church but these are their "values" does thsi seem watered down to you? To me it does. i want to see We Belive In JC etc etc., teh Bible is the inerrant word of God specific stuff! What say Yall?

Our Vision
To be a church where people searching to know God are welcomed and taught biblical principles in a relevant Christian community.

Our Mission
Leading people to a lifetime commitment to Christ, Church and Compassion.

Our Values
Believing that the Bible speaks in a fresh way to each generation, we purpose to apply biblical principles to everyday life, bringing faith and life together

Believing that people need to know God, we purpose to establish an environment where inquiry and the decision making process are valued and affirmed.

Believing that people need a community in which to be nurtured and grow, we purpose to develop a Christian community based on love, acceptance and forgiveness.

Believing that the greatest message in the world is God offering His Son to us, we purpose to teach the gospel message through culturally relevant styles of communication.

Believing that commitment to Christ is the highest calling for a human being, we purpose to offer ministries for every stage of life that lead people to grow toward spiritual maturity.

Believing that the arts are gifts from God, we value creativity in our services, expressing ministry in music, drama and media.

Believing that excellence honors God and inspires people, we purpose to strive for the highest level of quality in all areas of church life and ministry.

Believing that life care happens best in authentic relationships, we purpose to offer small groups where spiritual and personal needs can be addressed and prayed for.

Believing that God desires the world to know Him, we purpose to support evangelism and missions programs that meet people’s spiritual, emotional and physical needs with dignity and respect.

:runaway:runhills Go far far away f/that one, Truth. Find thee a Calvary Chapel church!! This one looks like a 'seeker' church. I wish churches would stop watering down the Gospel and go ahead and scare the HELL out of people like they used to. My church believes simply 'people without Jesus are lost and going to hell!' Our pastor is not afraid to call sin SIN!

Seriously, this is what we are seeing more and more. This church is probably emergent, definitely seeker sensitive. Don't waste your time.

Some key words I saw that signal emergent or seeker friendly:

Relevant, culturally relevant, fresh, acceptance, dignity, compassion, creative worship,

What they're missing: any reference to doctrinal orthodoxy, scripture, trinity, virgin birth, atonement, salvation, grace, heaven , hell , sin, the name of Jesus, Holy Spirit

Good catch Seekingtruth1, you won't find much truth there, just a lot of really deceived people trying to "accept, tolerate (its not love if you don't address salvation), and forgive" their way to a "nicer world" in a culturally relevant way. They may talk about Christ, but he won't be the Jesus of the Bible.

I stopped reading midway through the third item - stay away from this church, as everyone above has agreed. It is emergent junk. Better off staying home and reading the Bible by yourself.

I agree totally with everyone~~~avoid that church like the plague. What with the way the emerging church movement is going, sneaking into mainline denominations, it's getting more difficult to find a rock-solid, Bible believing, Bible preaching church any more. As it is, we drive 18 miles to church because of some of the problems in the other 3 churches that are closer to us. A couple of families want to run things and tell the pastor how to preach, etc. Praise God you read their "statement." I do that on every Christian website I visit, just to make sure what they believe lines up with God's word and the basic tenets of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
