I have long heard that evangelism; Witnessing and Proclamation were of the utmost importance in our walk with Christ. I am posting this very late because I was in bed pondering why my life is in such disarray.
I spoke to my Mother and Father, both have passed on. I prayed to God and Jesus about why I am so unhappy. I make a lot of money and am soon to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. Still no peace. I have had a lot of people and circumstances sideline my career, my children who are both in their 20's are messing up in one way or another. My daughter is unmarried and pregnant and my son refuses to work. I just want to quit.
Then I started praying the way our Lord, Jesus Christ, taught us to pray. i.e the Lords Prayer. I am an IT Project Manager and I just started to break it down to a more granular level.
Our Father, Who art in Heaven...the introduction.
Hallowed be Thy Name...to bow before Thee.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, here as it is in Heaven...hope.
Give us this day our daily bread...feed us so we can do your will.
And forgive us our....(depending on the version you live by)...trespasses -debts - sins...
As we FORGIVE those who (T, D, or S) against us. THIS IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO CHRIST. Forgive those...as he Forgives YOU....
Without a doubt, to forgive others will set you free. God/Christ will forgive you as you forgive others.
I must forgive my company, my bosses, my children and even MYSELF. Christ wants to forgive you...He died for you, but he smiles upon you when you too can forgive.
This felt like a heavy load had been lifted from my soul. I h ope you too will understand this as I have.
God Bless You!

Like it Steve, like it a lot. Forgiveness clears the way to love God with all you heart, all your soul, and all your strength and to love your neighbor as yourself. Forgiveness of self has been one of my biggest hurdles to overcome.

Definitely, forgiveness is huge, when we walk with God. We can't expect to be forgiven and receive His mercy, if we don't forgive others, and show mercy.

Mark 11:25-26 (King James Version)
25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Ephesians 4:31-32 (King James Version)
31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Matthew 12:35 (King James Version)
35A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Yep, that verse absolutely "speared" me, when I read it. The Word of God helps a person see their own sin, and repent, and turn from it.
Yes, God has forgiven me for a lot. And, with that grace and forgiveness given towards me, I also had to turn and forgive others. In my perspective, there was a lot of stuff to forgive...
