Anyone have it?
If you do what was the testing they wanted you to do?

I finally after years of waiting went to see the allergist today.
Normal Skin test showed up just fine. How ever after talking with me about my fruit problems she said I most likely have Oral allergy syndrome. (great)
I don't have the normal symptoms though. My tongue burns and the next day I get canker sores.

Next week I get to bring in my baggies of fresh fruit and they get to shove the juice under my skin. :hehee

That and try to still figure out why I constantly have sinus problems. :doh

How is OAS Diagnosed?
OAS is diagnosed when there is a history of the above symptoms in people with seasonal allergic rhinitis with pollens as a trigger. Positive skin testing to the suspect food can confirm the diagnosis of OAS, although food skin testing extracts obtained commercially will commonly be negative since the proteins resulting in OAS are broken down during processing. Therefore, it may be necessary to use the fresh fruit or vegetable to skin test, called a “prick-prick” procedure. The skin-testing needle is inserted into the fresh food, then used to prick the person’s skin.

Sounds like that's what they plan to do to you next week.

Those are also symptoms of celiac disease. If you have IBS or lots or intestinal troubles, you might want to check out celiac disease. There is a forum or two that are quite useful. Google the disease and read about the symptoms, if you feel they fit, you will need to make an appt with your dr.

yep!

I used to get sores ALL the time in my mouth.. something awful... and it didn't matter what I ate or didn't eat.

Once we elimiated the major intestinal issue with CD, the other went away.

I only get them when I eat certain fruits. :hide today I had a cherry tomato My tongue feels burnt now. But hey it tasted Good. :lol

My mothers tongue would crack from certain foods. :twitch

I don't think it's CD.

I am also having further testing for normal allergies. I have wondered if there was a wheat connection with wheat and nasal allergies.
