My Mom, a friend and I have been discussing if it's better to pray in silence because satan can't hear us then....he can't hear our thought's, but God can. Is there anything in scripture about this or is this just a made-up human idea?:idunno

Yeah, I think the enemy can hear us praying (when we pray aloud). I think it is wiser to pray a loud, as it will help you stay awake and concentrate better on the task at hand.

I don't think he can if you do so silently because only God is omniscient and omnipresent. satan can't be everywhere all the time thus he's not omnipresent. Nor can he read our hearts and souls and minds/thoughts since he is also not omniscient.
Just my two cents.

Even though fallen angels hear our prayers we have a hedge of protection, the Will of God, and the seal of the Holy Spirit.
