I may not be a great poet,
Though I suffer deep within...
Perhaps I'm just a simple man
Affected deeply by my sin.

All around me drift the dark ones,
Lost in their angry worlds.
Determined to find excitement
Yet living lives unfurled.

Can you soar high above the mountains?
Or Beyond that into space,
While all your selfish earthbound gestures
Cement your soul in place?

Will you give water to the thirsty?
Or bread to the dying man?
Will you hold the hand of those who
Scream and disrupt your every plan?

When deeply, children are in pain
They deviate from the path
Inside they shrivel up and die
And the good is out with the trash.

However, any love within can be recovered
If wonder is not dissevered from life
Its hate and fear and loneliness that eagerly wields that fateful knife

So even while in deepest pain
Examine every dream
Become entranced with reality and not just what it seems.
Remember this, there's wrath, even in the loveliest scene
And death will claim every thing that you will ever see.

Temporal beauty is transitory
And colors will always fade
But in that other land we seek
All our debts are paid.

There we will find love eternal
And never fear... Amen!
Then the land will become perfect
And fruitful once again.

So say your prayers,
And make your peace
We don't know how long we'll wait.
Just remember this please dear friend
Don't leave it till too late.
