Earthquake Strikes Parts of England
February 26, 2008
An earthquake struck in England early Wednesday and was reportedly felt across large parts of the country, geological officials and the BBC reported.
The 4.7-magnitude quake struck at about 1 a.m. and was centered about 125 miles north of London, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Great .......EAST COASt USA is way over due! The biggest deepest fault in the US is under NYC and if it goes it will way worse than anything the west coast woudl ever see...

The largest earthquake recorded in Britain had a magnitude of 6.1 and struck offshore in the North Sea on June 7, 1931, about 75 miles northeast of Great Yarmouth.
The country experiences a magnitude 5 earthquake on average every ten years. A magnitude 4 earthquake occurs on average every two to three years.

:hatHi Cindy-yes, i'm also seeing reports now of it being a 5.3 -making it the largest in 25 years to hit the UK. -definately a remarkable quake--and thankfully the injury and damage was not as bad as it could have been..PTL--i always pray that these events can help to turn some folks to our LORD, and it is my prayer today that this event can be used somehow for the good-and souls could be won. :pray

The quake, the largest to hit the U.K. for over a quarter of a century, struck at 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday. One person was injured. There was no damage to property.
