Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore. (Psalms 16:11 KJV)

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV)

My sister-in-law told me today that God has chosen people whom he knows will be saved and that some who call out to Jesus to save them will not have the holy spirit sent to them because they are not chosen by God. She said it is predetermined. I just don't believe that is true. Otherwise why would God want us to spread The Good News? What is the point of missionaries?

My preacher said that anyone who repents and believes that Jesus died for their sins, can and will be saved for eternity. Who is correct?

You have a Bible believing Pastor. You should thank God for him, for they are few and far between in these days of false teaching and damnable doctrine. Please read my study on Predestination (http://www.divineintervention.ws/News-Commentary/Keith'sComments/comm-12-10-2003.htm).

Thank you very much! I have saved your article and will print it out with your permission to discuss it with my sister-in-law at the right moment. She is a wonderful Christian and has been a Christian many more years than I have but we already have learned things so differently. I like to think I keep an open mind and study what others have to say and read the scriptures and wait for God to make it clearer to me. Sometimes that is difficult if what I am understanding in my own reading of the Bible is different from people who have a lot more time in on the subject at hand. That is why I love this website and refer to it often. I really do appreciate your scripture references. :hat

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (James 1:12 KJV)

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: (Malachi 3:2 KJV)

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18 KJV)

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger forever, because he delighteth in mercy. (Micah 7:18 KJV)

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, by ( grace ye are saved; ) (Ephesians 2:5 KJV)
