Hello Peacekeeper: I would like to share a few thoughts with you.

As a young man, I thought I was going to be a musician for most of my life. When I was about 20, I gave all my musical talents(or should I say gifts) away. The reasoning for this at the time was that I didn't believe the style of music I generally played was "to the glory of the Lord." However, I have come to find my talents can be very inspirational in my local church and elsewhere. In recent weeks, I could look out into the crowd and see a child's eyes glued on my fingers as I played basic backup on the banjo. That was a tremendous blessing to me.
In times past, I would look out from stage and see many things which still haunt me. Every style of music invokes various types of responces. For years, I played everything from Metallica, Ozzy, Eagles, to Bill Monroe. What I am trying to get at, is that each individual song or sheet of music can be rightfully divided to see if it is righteous or not. For example, Lynyrd Skynyrd came out with a song titled "That Smell" Upon listening to it, one might think it oks drug abuse, etc. However, listen a little closer and you will find the song telling you of several dangers with this drug abuse. I could sit here and show you various songs in very different genres of music which relate in spreading a righteous message.
The best and only advice I can offer on this topic is to pray about it.

There are many christian death metal / hardcore bands out there you can listen to.

I went to Cornerstone '07 last year and that's about all I heard was awful growling everywhere....:tsk
