Tony Jones Interview

Pastor John Chisham has placed up a video inteview he did with Tony Jones of the emerging church over at The Down Grade. In his intro Chisham says concerning this interview with Jones, a leading theologian in the Emergent Church:

Tony Jones asked me to Minneapolis to Solomons Porch to do an off the cuff interview (or conversation) about my issues with Emergent.

The edited version will soon be on YouTube, but this is the unedited version from my own camera which I shot with Tony’s permission…

I want to say to things about this: First, Tony is an extremely likeable guy, and I would definitely love to hang out with him and have lots of conversations with him. The second thing is that I found out how, in my view, and I think in the scriptural view, he and the scripture are miles apart. I truly think he thinks that he is right in his views, and I don’t think he purposely wants to harm anybody. But his teachings are truly dangerous and scary when you take them through the filter of God’s Word.

Tony Jones Interview: Answering the “Born Again” Question

Over at Emergent Village we see a revealing post concerning the concept of being born again as Tony Jones, a leading theologian in the emerging church:

Tony Jones recently interviewed Rev. John Chisham, pastor of River of Life Alliance Church in Marshall, Minnesota (and also outspoken critic of Tony and Emergent) for a series of videos being produced by Jossey-Bass in relation to promotion for Tony’s book The New Christians.

Apprising Ministries has done us the wonderful service of transcribing the entire 30-minute interview.

Jones responds to the question, "when were you born again?" Well actually, he answers in that kinda, sorta way of the Emergent Church.
