Here's an exchange from his news conference on Thursday:
Q What's your advice to the average American who is hurting now, facing the prospect of $4 a gallon gasoline, a lot of people facing --
THE PRESIDENT: Wait, what did you just say? You're predicting $4 a gallon gasoline?
Q A number of analysts are predicting --
THE PRESIDENT: Oh, yeah?
Q -- $4 a gallon gasoline this spring when they reformulate.
THE PRESIDENT: That's interesting. I hadn't heard that.
THAT'S INTERESTING. I HADN'T HEARD THAT. :doh

When I heard him say that I wanted to start screaming at the top of my lungs. I thought it was rude and showed he had no real care about oil and gas problem right now. And every time after that he said the best way to calm the nerves was to make the tax cuts permanent. That doesn't make me feel better today!!

I pray for our leaders. They do seem out of touch.

You know, it's sad when you can picture Leslie Nielsen ("Airplane") saying these things as President.:ohno Maybe adding something like, "I was just reading in this magazine all about the new flying cars that are going to be out by the end of the decade. What? The date? Oh, this is a 1950s magazine. Well, then we should have them by now, right? No wonder oil's so high; it must be hard to get enough gas to fly one of those, and then the cost of those gas stations 500 feet in the air...
I just hopehis nose doesn't start growing like that one scene in "Airplane." but if he starts in on this "not going into recession" business, or this above, too much, I may be forced to parody :hehee Okay, sorry, I already did, but still...
Herbert Hoover tried to use "Happy days Are Here Again,' but at least he acknowledged things were in bad shape and was just saying that they were going to pick up.
Seriously, our leaders sure do need prayers!
