Brett Favre retires

ESPN is reporting that Green Bay Packer QB Brett Favre is retiring after 17 seasons in the NFL, 16 of them with Green Bay. Congratulations, Brett, on a fantastic career. Although I wasn't a Green Bay Packer fan I always rooted for you as long as you weren't playing my favorite team. :)

You were a classy guy and one of the all-time greats, if not, the greatest to play the QB position. You will be missed. Enjoy your retirement from the NFL!

I am going to miss Brett. He was not one of the "pretty boys". I heard something funny. A newspaper writer said that he is so loved in Green Bay, that a poll indicated that 95% of women there would have an affair with him............................................... .and 70% of the men.:hehee

Brett seemed to have so much love for the game. I think he's the kind of guy that would have lived out of his car in the stadium parking lot and played for nothing.

As a diehard Bears fan, I will reserve comment on these stats, but you can probably guess what I and all Bears fans already think about Greenbay fans. :)

Sneaking in for a quick comment.....
Brett Favre is one of the best quarterbacks that have played in the NFL. CLASSY>>>> Kuddos to him for a wonderful career and double kuddos to him for his wife and wonderful marriage. His dad was proud!!!!! May God continue to bless him and his family.
Oh and by the by, everytime my husband sees him, my wonderful Atlanta Falcons fan husband, he's sure to remind me of the fact that guess where Brett started, and which team let him go....:doh

My son is a huge Packer (and Favre) fan. When I told him, he actually buried his head in his arms and cried. It was really kind of cute. He wore his Favre jersey to school today.

Brett is one of the best to ever stand behind center in the NFL. As a man, he appears to be 100% real, warts and all. As an NFL player, he was a throwback to a different era, and I mean that as a compliment. I stand behind his decision to retire now--he's leaving the game while still being at the top of his game.
