What a wild movie. I just watched the first part today on A & E channel. It was very action packed from the start. The second part airs tomorrow. Who caught it and what are your thoughts? :faint

Yes, I remember it. I like Star Trek for it's entertainment value but it is full of New Age concepts.

Have you guys noticed the commercials lately with a depiction of the last supper and NO. 7? is in Jesus's place with the other characters at the table? There is even a chalice on the table. They are also naming the episodes after Bible verses. In addition, even the story line seems at times to be coming from the Bible, namely, the one true God vs. all the other pagan gods.

Weird.

The other day I caugh at old episode of Classic Trek. It was the one where they come upon a planet which has the roman empire along with modern empire and the whole underplot had to do with the children of the "sun" which, at the end of the episode, Lt. Uhura had to explain to Cpt. Kirk and friends that they were talking about Jesus Christ, the Son of God!!!! And then Kirk adds that the greatest truth He taught was how we are all brothers and to love one another or something like that. Anyone remember that episode??

:thinking

This is off-topic, but have you noticed the increase in the number of shows about the paranormal? And the History Channel has been having a lot of programs about UFO's. Just de-sensitizing the general public I guess:idunno

I used to love the history channel, being a history buff and all. I have almost quit watching it because it seems to have become the (re-Writing) History Channel. It has become a propaganda machine

Glad this thread is still going as I watched something about crystal skulls over the week-end~~~somehow they play a part in the latest Indiana Jones movie. Anyhow, the story was told of a man who had put his hand on an old crystal skull a number of years ago, and felt a trembling. Supposedly an earthquake occured somewhere that day. I wish I had been paying closer attention, but something was said about the Mayans and that there are supposed to be 13 crystal skulls that have to be brought back to a Mayan temple~~~related to the end of time as we know it. Then tonight, I saw a commercial for a movie called "The Happening" which will be opening on Friday, June 13th. Just the little teaser of the content immediately made me think of an end-time plague. It was really freaky. If any of you happen to see the commercial, I would appreciate your take on it.

I saw the original Adromedia Strain many years ago, and didn't watch the new one. But with the remake of it, and some of the other movies and series that have come out over the past year, it seems even the secular world sense that something unusual is coming down the pike. I just Praise God that I can come here and exchange ideas and thoughts with fellow sisters and brothers-in-Christ, who are interested in being watchmen and sounding the alarm. Yep, :praying like crazy for the lost, including Muslims, and others in cults, as well as pastors who once were following the Lord but have gone off the deep end~~~WOF, emergent church, etc.:bighug for y'all putting up with my thoughts and opinions:)

Here's another one. It's not due in theaters until November but part of it was filmed very near us in Conneaut Lake, PA. Only reason I even remembered it, lol.

I think it came out in the early '80s and if I'm not mistaken, Roy Schneider was one of the stars. It was pretty scary back then that something like that could happen.

From Wikipedia...

The Andromeda Strain (1969) is a techno-thriller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techno-thriller) novel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novel) by Michael Crichton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Crichton). The plot concerns a team of scientists investigating a deadly disease of extraterrestrial (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraterrestrial_life) origin which causes rapid, fatal clotting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_clot) of the blood. This novel established Crichton as a best-selling author.
...
The book was the basis for a 1971 film of the same name (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Andromeda_Strain_%28film%29), directed by Robert Wise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Wise) and starring Arthur Hill (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Hill_%28actor%29) as Stone, James Olson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Olson_%28actor%29) as Hall, Kate Reid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Reid) as Leavitt, and David Wayne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Wayne) as Burton (renamed Dutton in the film).

I think it was on tv in the early 1970s.

I fell asleep on the second part. I was tired, but will try to catch it again. So it was lame, huh? When I catch it, I'll let you know if my findings are the same. Thanks.
