Howdy :hat I have a 62" Mitsubishi DLP TV that is having issues. Last Monday (3/3/08) the tech came out to fix the tv. He said it needed parts to fix and he took the "Chassis" containing the computer boards with him. He said it would take 10 days to 3 weeks to fix depending on the issue. Today I found out that the new ETA is 4/1/08. My questions is is there a law that says how long is too long to try to fix something? If it really is done by April first, I can wait but I don't want to wait more than a month to have my TV fixed. Is there anything I can do? Am I being too demanding or impatient? Thank in advance.

Call the store that you bought the set from. Explain to them what the tech told you. Sears used to replace merchandise if there was a lengthy wait or if parts simply weren't available. Usually they considered a couple of months as a lengthy wait. If you put the heat on some stores, they will do what they can to make you happy. You might also let them know you have lots of folks over to watch ball games and that it won't be good advertisement for them to be looking at a dead big screen tv for weeks on end.

If you bought the TV from a chain store...get ahold of the district manager & explain the problem to him. Go around the tech & store manager to the decision makers. Tell him you want satisfaction or they will lose your business & the business of your friends.
