Noah's Ark:
The Distorted Story

A Critical Look into the Discovery Channel's "Noah's Ark: The True Story"
by Arthur Daniels, Jr.

On the same night, one television network, The Discovery Channel network, managed to do in one night something that I had previously thought was impossible: it ran two of the most Biblically misinformed, logically flawed, and scientifically bankrupt shows in the history of cable or satellite television. Not only did the Discovery Channel air “The Lost Tomb of Jesus” on March 4, 2007, but it also aired a show called “Noah’s Ark: The True Story” (which was produced back in 2004).

Both shows were well done from a computer graphic and design perspective, but all the special effects in the world are meaningless if you can’t get basic facts straight and engage in subtle deception while pretending to give us facts and evidence toward a conclusion. I submit that the story told by The Discovery Channel was far from “the true story” but was a deliberate attempt to distort the facts so that the Biblical account can seem impossible, while the mythical Babylonian account was held up as the most plausible.

Clearly the show producers and writers had an agenda they wanted to push, and thus they stacked the deck to give the audience the false impression that the Babylonian flood myth was actually the “true” story behind the alleged mythology of the Hebrew Bible.

How did the Discovery Channel (DC) program stack the deck? By committing Biblical errors, scientific errors, and logical errors, all of which could not have been unintentional.

Peter 3
1This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

I suppose as long as satan is "the prince of the air" he will use this means to try to thwart God's truths.:tsk His days are numbered though and soon "The Discovery Channel" will discover more than it bargained for.

...I submit that the story told by The Discovery Channel was far from “the true story” but was a deliberate attempt to distort the factsActually it most likely was NOT a deliberate attempt to distort, most likely the network people and station managers actually believe it. However, we can grant it likely was a deliberate attempt to expose the myths (to them) of the Bible and they probably feel they've done their good deed for the week.

It's been a long time since I watched anything on the Discovery Channel. And the OP example is why.

:tskMan will do anything to distort the truth:tsk

As long as they can deny the truth, people are subject to their own wills, not that of God Almighty and what He provided for us in Jesus.

The evidence is everywhere that the flood happened. It's just that so many careers, pensions, and more importantly consciounces, are on the line for these scientists. I advise anyone to look up "Creation Evidence." It's powerful stuff.

The Bible shows the great ship came to rest in the mountains of Ararat, in present-day Turkey (not the mountain of Ararat). That is exactly where it landed. Yet, that area is so far away and isolated, that you might hear of things found (like an ultra-decayed ship, large anchor stones with Noah's family carved on them around the site, ect), and excavations going on, but you can never prove it, or get absolute verification. Yet, it doesn't matter to me: I believe the Bible 100% word-for-word, and Noah's Ark is one of my favorite accounts of our holy God's power.

Also, I read the lofty, soaring peaks of the Himalayas have fossils of sea life in the rock.

The Discovery broadcast "In Search of Noah's Ark" had claimants that said they had found the Ark and that it was petrified. Probably in two parts, but the problem now is that Turkish authorities won't let us dig for it. That pretty much puts a damper on everything.
