Thank you Lord for what you showed me today.
My friend who recently accepted the Lord :yeah called me today to ask my opinion about a situation she faced concerning her and her boyfriend's visit this weekend to her aunts who is a Christian.
She said that she was really looking forward to talking to her aunt about her salvation but that she wanted to ask her not to talk about it in her boyfriend's presence because he's very much opposed to her new faith in the Lord.
I shared with her that when I was saved two years ago, not only did my partner oppose to my new faith, Satan was working overtime to attack me spiritually through him. I saw something very ugly in him during that time. He would scream and yell at me when I wouldn't back down when it came to truth, turn the TV up really loud when I would say grace and even locked me out of the house one day when I was away at church. It was quite a trial but I just held on real tight to Jesus and He got me through it. Not only did he come to accept and respect my faith he was eventually saved! :yeah
She had to get off the phone to get ready to leave for the visit and I promised to look up some scripture for her and of course I the Lord lead me to RR fiind something that would be helpful to her and me for that matter as far as witnessing goes.
While doing so the first thing I came across was Ron Graham's Kicking Against the Norm After reading this I immediately called her back and told her that it was not her aunt she needed to discuss this with but her boyfriend. That they were going to be guests in her Christian home and in no way was she to ask her aunt to not freely worship and praise the Lord in her own home or car because if offends the boyfriend. I said that she should sit down and talk with him before they left and let him know how it was going to be and give him the option not to go if he was going to be uncomfortable with that. I normally don't ask people to promise anything to me but I asked her to promise that she would still go for the visit even if he decided not to go.
She agreed that we were both looking at this the wrong way trying not to offend the non-believer and in doing so we are denying Jesus. Forgive us Lord. :pray
Thank you Jesus because you not only helped me guide my friend to you in this situation but you showed me something that has helped me to affirm my own faith.:bow
I strongly encouraged her to discuss her feelings about this with her aunt because based on what she's told me about her she is strong in her faith and will be able to guide her in what the Lord has to say about this and comfort her by sharing her own experiences as I have done.
I ask you brothers and sisters to pray with me in Jesus name that she does go for the visit so she can be surrounded by loved ones who love Him and be drawn closer to Him. Please also pray with me that her boyfriend receives salvation. We praise you Lord! Amen!
