Arkansas, my home state, rarely is in the national news. This past week a meat packing plant exploded, the White River is flooded at record levels, and now these five children died in a fire. These are surely the last days.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Five children died in a Bentonville house fire Tuesday.

Fire Chief Dan White said the children were upstairs, while their parents were asleep downstairs when the fire broke out. The fire call came in at 1:22 a.m.

The parents were awakened by a smoke alarm but they could not get upstairs because of the smoke and flames, White said. The blaze appeared to be accidental, he said.

The children ranged in age from 7 to 13.

"They were all in the same family," White said.

Their names have not been released.

Police and fire officials called a news conference for 2 p.m. Central time.

Let our Lord's will be done! We can find peace in our knowledge that we have a home in God's heavenly kingdom. Praise God that He has chosen us as His children and we have eternal salvation through God's grace and mercy. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice on our behalf. All the praise and glory is yours alone!!!!!
