they have an NLT for $14.99, but not in their free ad on list.

from free Bibles i downloaded:
KJV red letter
KJV 1611 w/ apocrypha

from Dictionaries i tried:

Thayer's Greek
and
Easton's Bible Dictionary

from Graphics i took:

American Bible Society maps
Classic Bible Maps
Rev. Clarence Larkin's Book of Charts (i am thrilled with this!)
Historical Atlas by William R. Shepherd
Ancient Mediterranean Maps (which i might get rid of?)

from Extras i took:
Antiquities of the Jews
Condensed Biblical Cyclopedia
Sketches of Jewish Social Life
Life and times of Jesus the Messiah
Wars of the Jews

I havn't taken anything from Commentaries or Devotions yet, i'd like suggestions for those if anyone has them :)

i think i'll grab a few more Bibles and maybe another Dictionary....still taking suggestions on those too :thumb

i think i'll grab a few more Bibles and maybe another Dictionary....still taking suggestions on those too :thumbNIV, YLT, AMP for Bible. I actually bought the NASB Bible and Dictionary as that is my favorite translation.

Thayer is the best for NT definitions. Get the BDB for OT definitions. Its the best of the free ones for that use, IMO.

You can find some others pulgins out on the internet too. Joel sent me copies of the CJB (Complete Jewish Bible) and the MKJV (Modern KJV (not NKJV))

The Gill, Barnes and K&D commentaries are all good ones, especially for the OT.

There are some semi-official User Mods located here... http://www.e-sword.net/usermods/

...and here is a Yahoo group for e-Sword. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eSword/

Found this in the Yahoo Group http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/AHPqR7X5zF4cKRVacAW49WKPEtI_zVbgOnwE9Xt3sxeicKxI8F euOs9LJqYWhRKrPGrBZ6nCRppEWy7CsE4DgYLKHb_TeRzet1g/e-Sword%20Bookmarks.htm

e-sword is a great program! And you can get a very good selection without spending a dime.
I would add to these other suggestions, in bibles, the ESV. There is still no charge for this. I like the YLT -- not for everybody, but a good one if you want a bottom line literal.

In Commentaries, I recommend Jamieson Faucett and Brown; also like the People's New Testament. In dictionaries I like the Noah Webster, and the Smith Bible Dictionary . The King James Dictionary is useful, that gives you the number of times a given Greek or Hebrew word is translated, and to what.

There is another resource maybe less noticed: Click on the Links, at the top right hand side of the downloads page. Then inside, click on "e-sword user modules", then scroll down to bibles. I recommend the King James 2000. it takes out the archaics, but leaves the text hardly touched. Also try The Scriptures, an interesting version. There are a few more good too.

I may have duplicated some of what is above, if not I'll try them myself.

You will enjoy!
