How We Were Purpose Driven Out

Building on the CRN post Resisting The Purpose Driven we bring you another personal account at Purpose Drivel from actual people–right, they’re not mere statistics–squeezed out during at PDL takeover of a church:

This is meant to be a raw running account of correspondence we had during the time of our church struggle/trial. I apologize for the length. It was just much easier to do this way when we brought it over from the old site than many individual posts. I kept most of my correspondence and didn’t alter it to make myself look better, hence you will see a LOT of frustration from qeylar (Paula) and Cyrano (Jason) and others who were involved.

It was very difficult to make sense of what was going on and that confusion and the resultant anger and emotion I didn’t attempt to hide. This is just ….how it was. This is the ‘authentic relationship’ version so you purpose drivers and emergents shouldn’t have any problem with that.

Thank you Billiefan for posting this. I think too many people don't fully understand the implications of the whole Church Growth Movement and how leaders can lose their ethics and Christian integrity to accomplish the "goals" of this movement.

There was a post not too long about about the book called "Transitioning"--D. Southerland-- it is endorsed by Rick Warren. It instrusts pastors and leader in the church on how to get rid of the dissenters whom object to the PDL and other (unscriptural) methods.

why is Rick Warren and others like him

hateful towards those who use Discernement and questioning people like Warren



that needs to be asked


I mean if Rick Warren is truly doing what is best for christians,


why he is wanting anyone who uses Discernment

and is wary of Warren's theology

to be kicked out of the churches
