My 4 yr old has been asking for a long skirt after she saw someone else wearing one and liked it. It's time to buy her new clothes anyways (she grows so fast) so I thought I'd look for some. Unfortunately it is more difficult than I thought--I have yet to see one in a store and I can NOT sew that well :). Do any of you have suggestions as to where I can find little girls long skirts/dresses/jumpers?

Thanks!!!

Oh, I wish I could help. You may try finding someone to make one. My daughter is 14 and we have a terrible time finding clothing, in general, that is appropriate for 14 yr olds. She usually sticks to jeans and t-shirts. The clothes that they are sale to our young teens is outrageous and then they have the nerve to wonder why our girls grow up so fast. The sweats with the writing on the rear is my pet peeve. When someone walks by with something written on their rear it is just natural to read it. Well, that invites men to look at little girls rears. Even the non-perverts look.

I'm not sure how long you're talking, but we use Lands End a lot -- skirts/dresses/jumpers to mid-calf length.

Good luck with that! I have 3 girls and have a heck of a time finding modest clothes for them. I do like Land's End but can't afford it.

I search on Ebay alot. I tend to find lots of modest dresses and tops there.

Thanks everyone! I visited a few of the sites with my daughter beside me and she thinks they're boo-tee-full :aha.

Some of them are quite expensive for kids clothing, but I'm still going through all the links. It's frustrating to not be able to find anything in the stores, it's hard to size her because she's tall and thin...

What about looking for used formal type dresses girls wear to like weddings and take the bodice off and make skirts?

Maybe redo the bodice to tone down the formality of it and make a new top or vest?
