Prepare for the Worst, Because Solar Storms Are About to Get Ugly (http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/magazine/16-04/st_spaceweather)

Every 11 years or so, the sun gets a little *****. It breaks out in a rash of planet-sized sunspots that spew superhot gas, hurling clouds of electrons, protons, and heavier ions toward Earth at nearly the speed of light. These solar windstorms have been known to knock out power grids and TV broadcasts, and our growing reliance on space-based technology makes us more vulnerable than ever to their effects. On January 3, scientists discovered a reverse-polarity sunspot, signaling the start of a new cycle — and some are predicting that at its peak (in about four years) things are gonna get nasty. Here's a forecast for 2012.

cool. Terri Blackstock has a series of fiction books where a pulsar is the equivilant of a world-wide EMP and knocks everything out ,and how the people in one community deal with it. It's a great series and really gets you thinking about how things "could" go should something major happen. they were a quick and easy read, and I reccomend you check them out of your local library.

As always, the sun is fascinating.
But how is this going to be any different to any of the other solar cycles? It peaks every 12 years, and we were pretty reliant on satellite comms in 2000, and I don't think much bad came of that.

Hopefully, before the new season of 24. Could mess up the satellite. Just kidding.:heythere

Well, the fact that they can't accurately predict terrestrial weather four days in advance gives them the confidence they need to say they have solar weather pretty much pegged four years in advance :nod :heh
To be honest though, in the last cycle there were some *massive* flares that weren't pointed at us, but were near enough to guesstimate at being waaay off the scale. If they had been aimed at us, it's possible they could have wiped out all the satellites easily. A flare was supposed to be the root cause of one of the big multi state power outages before I was born too. It's all just guessing though, and the 'worst case' scenario makes for great print. ;)

Objective Scientists without an agenda see a correlation with solar activity on the sun. Increased solar activity warms the earth. Decreased solar activity cools the earth. It's not at all about CO2. CO2 has nothing to do with it. Keep that in mind as you are taxed for your "carbon footprint".

One must remember that at this solar cycle, not only will there be sunspots, but the sun's magnetic-pole-reversal timing is in accordance with these sunspots and will cause the situation to be worsened.
Also, the magnetic-pole-reversal of the earth coincides with the sun's magnetic-pole-reversal in this cycle, which will increase the devastation value exponentially.
It is very possible that all satellite communications will be permanently eradacated at the opening of the Sixth Seal, when the stars fell. Rev 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.
Rev 6:14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.
This agrees with the supernatural elements in the Trib. I am convinced that the supernatural activity during the Trib. will be off the scale compared to the rest of time since the Creation. JMO, Selah, Maranatha!

What 2012? Dont Tell Jack VanImpe! SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:hehee
I don't know about all the satalites going out I thought the world would witness the death of the two witnesses, and their resurection? I have heard theat the end times would not have been possible without satalites.
