2 Cor. 5:19
…namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Here we see that God accomplished the work of reconciliation on the cross.
Romans 11:15
For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
Here we see that Israel’s rejection (being cast away) meant reconciliation for the world. We know from 2 Cor. 5:19 that He reconciled the world on the cross.
God accomplished the work of reconciliation on the cross (2 Cor. 5:19) because of Israel being cast away.
1) Do you agree with the interpretation above?
2) For those of you who see the temporary casting away of Israel after Acts 2, would you say that God did the work on the cross because He knew that He would eventually cast Israel away?

I have trouble with the statement that God accomplished reconciliation of the world because of Israel's fall.
I rather see that God's intention was to provide a way for the world to be reconciled to Him when Israel failed to be the instrument to bring the world to God.

Shalom,
GodsTrombone has it correct.
In Jonah we see the example of YHVH calling the Jews to be HIS worldwide messengers and what the subsequent results would be. By the time Y'SHUA was born they had all but forgotten their calling and closed the doors to the salvation of the world through their religious "Traditions (See Mark 7:13 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Mar/Mar007.html#13) something the modern so-called church is also doing).
They had gone so far from their calling and YHVH that it was said of them by Y'SHUA...
Mat 23:29. “Woe to you, hypocrite scribes and Pharisees, because you are building the sepulchers of the prophets and you decorate the graves of the righteous, 30. and you say, ‘If we were in the days of our fathers, we would not be sharers with them in the blood of the prophets.’ 31. So you testify for yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32. And you must now fulfill the measure of your fathers.
...
Mat23:37. “Jerusalem. Jerusalem! The one who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her, how often did I desire to gather your children, just as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you did not want Me to. 38. Behold your house is abandoned, a desolate place for you. (Tob 14:4) 39. For I say to you, you would not see Me again until you would say, ‘Blessed is He Who comes in the name of YHVH. ’” (Ps 118:26) PNT (Power New Testament (http://www.treeoflifeinc.org/letschat/index.php/topic,1400.0.html))
"when Israel failed to be the instrument to bring the world to God," YHVH provided the sacrifical Lamb that HE had promised to Abraham.
Gen 22:8 Avraham replied, "God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son"; and they both went on together. CJB (Complete Jewish Bible (http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?new=1&word=gen+22%3A8§ion=0&version=cjb&language=en))
YHVH knew from before the creation that man would fail and HE knew that HE would provide a Lamb to reconcile them with HIMself and therefore HE planned it long before it was ever manifest. HE did not wait and then react. It was not because "A" happened that HE reacted and made "B". It was before "A' happened that HE had planned "B" to happen.
