Both are good. What version does your friend want?

NIV is easy to read. So is NASB.

The NIV's good. I've not had much experience with the Life Application Study Bibles, but I know the NIV Student Bible is great.

The NASB is a good translation (one of my favorite), but there are times when it can almost be too wooden/literal, in that it sometimes follows the Greek or Hebrew syntax so closely that the English translation can be a bit hard to read. My first Bible was a NIV Study Bible, and I loved it.

I love my Life Application Bible!! It helps you along so much explaining things! (I'm bad at studying).

Yep, it is a good Study Bible. Trouble with me, is that I read all the info down at the bottom, but not the Scripture itself. :doh

Then you supposed to apply what you read, but I don't do that very well either. Double :doh

I like the Living Bible best.
