This is my praise for today...

Yesterday, was one of those days for my family, the kind where it's not Monday, but it feels like a Monday. So many little things went wrong. Miscommunication, getting lost trying to find places, grocery shopping with an unhappy monkey, hubby was feeling overwhelmed at IDC school (take med school and cram it into one year, he says), that pile of laundry that keeps growing even when there's no one at the house...whew! what a day.

Even so, there were glimpses of God's grace around us. He kept us safe (there were a few near-misses in traffic). We got home in time to watch Wubbzy on tv (my 2 yr old appreciated that) The Taco Bell chalupas were very tasty (my 8-yr old). And I had almost $20 in coupons at the grocery store!

I'm a very detail-oriented person and I love how God's love radiates from even the tiniest detail.

Like just now, my littlest monkey woke up from his nap on the sofa, walked over to me and climbed in my lap. His hair was standing up in the back, and his cheeks were pink and he was rubbing his eyes with his pudgy little hands.
"Yuv yoo" he says to me, and i kissed his sweet little cheeks. I can't explain it, but little moments like that move me to tears of joy sometimes. I guess a child's love is like God's love. True, it's not as pure (they will want cookies from time to time!) but it is simple and comforting.

:pray Thank you, God, for my little monkeys!

I was so blessed by reading your post, IDC wife. Oh, indeed, children are a heritage of the Lord. . .In my Bible, after that verse, I wrote, "Amen!" Someday, after I've gone 'home', hopefully our dear sons will see that note in the margin of my Bible, and know that they were so precious to their mom. Thank you for sharing with us today how precious your little ones are to you, too. :)

What a beautiful thought, Lynn! I'm not ashamed to say I'm going to copy you and do that, too! :thumb

Children are the best blessings on this Earth! I have 3 daughters 9,7 and 2. I love nothing better than when the little one wraps her little arms around me and kisses on me. There's just nothing better (not in this world anyway!).

bless the Lord
oh my soul
and all that is within me
bless His Holy Name.

God is good, and He blesses us so regularly.

We now have three grandchildren, and as I look back over my somewhat long life, I consider the days that I'm with my children and my grandchildren as the happiest days of my life. They are truly 'peak' experiences of sheer happiness. It's wonderful when people realize what a blessing children are, before they are all grown up. :)
