I have always had a theory, and please tell me what you all think. Now I'm sure that most of you while saying Jesus is the only way to Heaven, that there is some kind of exception for people who have never heard the gospel, for children, (aborted and up to a certain age), and for the mentally disabled. I've always thought this was the purpose of the 1000 year reign on Earth. I figure Jesus would allow these people into the 1000 year kingdom on Earth, as this is their test. This is why Satan is allowed to tempt them at the end of the reign, since they still must prove their loyalty to Jesus. Sadly, many of them will fail. :scratch. Anyway, what do you think of my idea?

WOW. There is a lot packed in that one paragraph. For now I'll comment on ONE of the purposes for Jesus' 1000 year reign. One time, a long time ago, someone explained it to me this way;

The world is a stage. Even the angels in heaven are intently watching what God is doing on this earth. Man has been given roughly 6000 years to inhabit and show what sin can and will do.

Lucifer was cast from heaven along with his followers for their sin of rebellion. God is just and is patiently letting sin bear its evil fruit, for all to see. Ultimately, Jesus will step in before we totally destroy ourselves.

The earth will be nearly perfect while Jesus is ruling it. At the end of 1000 years, evil will once again be unleashed. There will be another rebellion that Jesus will destroy immediately.

Thus, showing all beings in the universe why hell is necessary and just. This will show that man will rebel even when God Himself is in their midst and rightly deserves the "second death". And why Satan and his demons deserve their punishment as well.

This is very simplified and I'm sure that there are others who can answer your question better than me.

I was intrigued by your questions and wanted to respond. Hope this helps in part.:hug

:welcomesign Glad to have you here. :woohoo

That is the Premillennial thought.

But to answer your question, God will not bring back people who have 'never heard him' to test them in the MK. That's not how it works. And the 6000 years is just a theory not scripture. :thumb

As it's been said, "the less one makes declairative statements, the less apt they are to look foolish in retrospect."

You don't know if that's the case or not. I realize I have little to no scripture to back up my idea, I just like the idea, and it makes a lot of sense to me. It would seem fair to me. And I think that's especially true with children; I mean, who else would turn against Jesus in the MK except for those who (I hate putting it this way) didn't earn it in the same way adult christians did. They would have to prove themselves to Jesus too I would think. And that's what I think the purpose of the MK is.

You can't impose on the scriptures what you 'think is a good idea', you have to go by what the scriptures say. You even said you have no scriptural support for your argument and that's because there is none. I think there is a passage dealing with the people who don't hear the gospel and that they go by creation or something, I'm not really sure, but they don't get a 'second chance' in the MK. By the way, I hope I don't sound mean in saying this. :wave

We are to die once, not twice. By reincarnating those who died without ever hearing or witnessing God (due to age or cognitive factors), God would be contradicting himself. Can't be done.

Hebrews 9:27-28 (New King James Version)
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

The evidence of our Creator is everywhere. No one is without excuse.

Romans 1:20 (New King James Version)
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

God reaches out to everyone - it is their responsibility and choice to reach back and accept God's hand.

The millennial kingdom is for the humans who made it through the tribulation. They must be given the choice of whether or not to choose Jesus for themselves. After the 1000 years are up, satan will once again be given the opportunity to grab who he can from this last group of humans - those who follow satan will be punished with him - those who follow Jesus will be redeemed.

:scratch The OT saints just believed in God. Their faith guarantees their eternity in heaven. The story of the death of David's infant son and David's confidence that he will see that son again points to salvation for children. I don't think the Bible gives evidence of a test during the thousand year reign. Satan is bound until the end of the reign and is unable to deceive anyone until he is loosed at which time those that have been born into the millenial kingdom will need to choose.

I think.

It was earned on the cross. Jesus paid the debt, and those children that are under the age of accountability do not have to earn or prove their way into heaven.
2Cr 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. There's no inbetween or waiting period to meet our Saviour.
