In the video, it's claimed that 30 years ago, 3 men were given the same vision about how to reach America & nations for the Lord Jesus.

They are saying that it's time to overtake the 7 mountains of cultural influence. The mountains are government, media, Arts & entertainment, religion, family, business, and education. So, if we take overtake these stragetic areas, then we will have reached the world for Christ.

My question is this: Doesn't this man-made idea go completely beyond what Jesus told us to do? Jesus commissioned His Church to go into all the world, preach the gospel & make disciples. Why would Jesus now tell these men in a vision that the way to reach the nations is through government, media, entertainment, education, business & so on?

From the verses they use, it seems like they are attempting to build the mountain of God themselves. Biblically, in the book of Daniel, the mountain of the Lord is "cut without hands", so that should tell us right there that we cannot build this!

Additionally, didn't the Roman Catholic Church already attempt this by wielding it's power & influence in government, religion, family, etc.? If our reformation brothers considered the Catholic Church the harlot of Revelation, then what do we call this new movement? Is it of no coincidence that the movement's leaders are calling us to overtake the "7 mountains"...or am I just reading too much into it?

"Reclaim" makes it sound as if Christ controlled those "mountains" to begin with. Not a completely unworthy goal, but some form of 'dominionism' seems to be in play. As if we can clean this world up and make it shiny perfect, like the real kingdom of God.

Christ said to preach the gospel. It has the power to do what is necessary.

This is exactly what the Kingdom Now/New Apostolic et al groups are teaching. They believe the church will set up God's Kingdom and that Jesus will not or even cannot come back until we do it. I believe they are taking verses regarding the Millenium and applying them to now. C. Peter Wagner says that the number one message the Holy Spirit is giving to the churches right now is Social Transformation, equal to saving souls!!! I even believe there is a similar drive in the Purpose Driven agenda. Satan is reaching into all denominations of the church!!! Ugghhhh!

From their site:
The Dominion Process
Definition: Dominion Eschatology is the examination of future events through the lens of the dominion mandate in Genesis 1:28 and in Matthew 28:19-20. It assumes the influence of the church will increase on earth until Jesus returns. This view stands against some opposing views which see the influence of the church waning in the last days. It does not intend to imply absolute dominion, as in a sinless earth, but a preparatory dominion, as in the earth being prepared for the return of the King. Thesis: There are three main points that this presentation seeks to substantiate. http://www.reclaim7mountains.com/articles.asp?columnid=4347

Yes, the purpose driven agenda is very similar. Why are so many Christians getting caught up in these bizarre teachings? This dominionst theology is even crossing over into pre-milennialism which I previously believed to be impossible.

preparatory dominion? That's a new one lol. I guess if they can't get Christians on board with the fallicy of total dominion, they downgrade ever so slightly to throw off unsuspecting believers.
