Miss Molly, thank you so much for posting this! I cannot believe the lack of discernment within our local church in this regard. Protestants either don't know, or don't care, that the Catholic Church preaches a different gospel that denies the finished work of Jesus on their behalf.
The Catholic Church is primarily a political behemoth, disguised as a religious organization. It is not benign and has designs that have nothing to do with winning souls to the biblical Jesus.
As I read this wonderful article about not trampling on the blood of the reformers, I couldn't help add that we should also not trample on the blood of Jesus Christ by linking spiritually in anyway with this deceptive organization. Run from her!!!!!!

It's amazing - and scary at the same time - to watch churches and the individuals in them slowly fall into trap after trap. We have a lady in our Bible study who's probably in her late 60's/early 70's who casually remarked that her adult daughter really likes her yoga class. Out of the roughly 10 ladies sitting around the table, only two of us spoke up; an 80 yr. old woman who's been a Christian all her life and me. I just couldn't believe it when the woman was defensive and argued that there was nothing wrong with yoga.
I bring this up because it all goes back to people just not knowing their Bibles.
The Catholic Church will draw many into their trap with all the bells and whistles they offer. People are so hungry for something to hold on to in these troubling times and they are easy prey. Be careful, Pegmo. Stick to your Bible like glue! :pray

SO TRUE!!!! It seems that virtually every cult, bad teaching, misled Christian, and make believer can attribute their folly to this one issue: YOU MUST READ and KNOW YOUR BIBLE!!!! It's not necessary to be able to quote scripture and verse or remember a ton of verses, but you must read it consistently, purposefully, over and over again, all the time. It's like breathing, it must be done if you want to live. Why do people avoid it? I'm glad you brought this up, we should shout it from rooftops. READ YOUR BIBLE!!!!! :lol2

I think people are very intimidated by the whole idea of reading the Bible. I also think that's because there is that underlying feeling that we want to be in control of our own lives. There is this "fear" of finding out there is something bigger than us after all. We seem to know that once we read it and understand what it says, there is no more excuse for not submitting to God. And as sinful humans we just don't want to let go of that control we think we have. We want to be our own god...

I think you put it very well. The world seems so out of control..... it is hard to let go of the control we think we have and just hold on to Jesus.

Also, we know that apostasy in the church is to be expected and we know that Jesus warned us to watch out so we are not deceived by it. How on earth will we recognize apostasy when we don't know what the Book says in the first place? :faint That scares me! We first have to know what it REALLY says before we can recognize what it does not say.

I'm really struggling with other christians when their opinions are all "I believe this" and "I feel this". At no point are they tethering their beliefs to the Word of God. My heart breaks for them, and if I'm honest, I struggle with not getting angry.
It's no wonder they're being decieved by all the wolves in sheep's clothing because, in this regard, their foundation appears to be on the sand. (Matthew 7:24-27)
I feel like we are standing on the edge of a sword. We want to leave this world and jump off the sword edge over to the Lord's side, but we are buffeted by our desire to reach out to as many as possible on the other side. So to not be part of the world, we stand on the edge of the sword. I guess that puts what the Lord says in Hebrews 4:12 into perspective.
Getting cut is the best thing and the worst thing at the exact same time...
I'm probably not making any sense...please forgive my rant.. :hehee

Kalanka, you make perfect sense and I imagine most of us here feel the same way; we all have loved ones we'd like to help find the Lord. The whole key is for those loved ones to actually WANT to find Him. Sadly, most of them think He's to be found in their own minds so they mold Him into whatever they want Him to be and POOF! He's their own personal Savior. They just don't want to learn about Him if it means they have to change or give up control of their own lives. They like being in charge and making the rules. They like being their own god...and most people have no idea that's what they are really doing.
