I'm taking a shot here... anyone studied Italian at home here? I asked my oldest what she wanted to study next (after Latin) and she said Italian. Anyone know of a good program for that?

All I can think of is Rosetta Stone. Learning Italian after learning Latin should be pretty easy.
They have a homeschool version for most of their languages too.
Oh, btw, they are pretty expensive. There are ways to get it without it costing so much. One is ebay. Another is your local library. Some libraries have it online, and allow their patrons to use it for free, but you'll have to check if your library system offers this program.

We're doing Italian at home with Rosetta Stone. Yes it is expensive but it is an excellent program. My kids are retaining it well and are already beginning to converse....very minimally, but they are doing very well so far.

I would vote for Rosetta Stone, too.:thumb I just have 1 son at home yet, the other three were all homeschooled as well...they are all married now. When they were all at home for their education we probably wouldn't have spent as much money. Now, with only one at home I find myself spending a little more here and there on his school work. Looking back though, I wish I would have had Rosetta Stone for them as well. It would have been a great plus!:)

If Rosetta Stone is too pricey right now for you, The Learnables are a less expensive alternative that uses the immersion method as well. :)

We use Rosetta Stone in our house. It is a very good program for picking up language on your own.
