I found a website I wanted to share (I may think it's super cool, but you may find me dorky :lol2) It converts any file into a PDF for you as long as it is under 2 MB... I used it to convert a publisher file since I don't have any way to open that. Someone sent me some flyers to print for them. I get many people who send me art in Publisher (a horrid program I may add....)

www.pdf995.com/ is another good one, and I don't think it has file size limits. I've only ever used it to convert MS Word documents though. Cool thing is it shows up as a printer in Office so you just chose it instead of the regular printer when you want output as a pdf. :)

I've been useing a program for that called PDF Redirect (http://www.download.com/PDF-ReDirect/3000-6675_4-10255233.html?tag=lst-1) for that.
Open Office.org (http://www.openoffice.org/) also has an export to PDF function.
If you don't have anything to open the file you want to convert, the website is great [excitation point]

PDFCreator does the same thing only better. There are no nag screens like pdf995, and no file size limit.
Only thing to watch out for is to uncheck the IExplorer toolbar during installation.
It's open source free as in freedom and beer!

I like dopdf, a freeware program. It converts into .pdf ver 5. I have that on my computers even though I have adobe acrobat 8.0 (full program).
Publisher was mentioned... if you're referring to MS Publisher, the 2007 version is very nice, in my view.

:panic Graphic designers dislike publisher very much!!
HAHA!!! Actually, it is good for someone to do simple things on- but whenever I have to print something for people, I ALWAYS have to start from scratch if they did it in Publisher.... so many Jr. designers out there! :lol2 (not trying to put anyone down...)

Here is what I use and it is a free download. It works as another printer on your computer. Anytime you want to convert your document into a PDF just open the document and go to file as if to print and it will convert to PDF.:yeah
