A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ that a man should have to seek Him first to find her.:thumb

Maybe that's why young women are having such a hard time with finding a godly husband these days? Because young men are NOT seekng HIM!

Our two young daughter's are giving up hope that godly men are few and far between. Even young men in the churches are "sitting on the fence" with one foot in the world. :tsk

I know I struggle with this. I so desperately want for a man to seek God first and then for God to put me on that man's heart and for the man to pursue me without ANY help from me!

But I admit that it is SO HARD! I fail all the time ... miserably. I think part of it is about having faith that I will be taken care of no matter what. :)

On a side note, I don't necessarily see Christian men on the fence but more just passive. VERY passive. :(

I love that! :nod I'm going to print it out to hang on the wall beside my computer for when my dd is older. :thumb

The wall by my computer is slowly but surely getting filled with great little sayings and also scripture verse. :lol2

A problem I see with many Christian men is that they are still caught up in worldly ideas of beauty when it comes to women. I know many good, God-fearing women in my church who have been overlooked because they aren't blonde and a size 6.

In the church we were in for years, the young guys were always going after the girl's who didn't dress and act very christian like, if you know what I mean. They never gave my daughter's the time of day because they were serious about serving the Lord. They dressed modestly. Stylish, but modest.

Christi, what you said is exactly what my girl's have been saying.:hug My girl's are 27 and 23, and have remained faithful to the Lord. I can't figure why the Lord has yet to bring them godly husbands. Unless... His coming is at hand. Maybe that's why Christi.

Then I have a son who is 32 and tells me "there are no godly women anymore! They all sleep around and have kids from 3 different guys by the time they get to my age!" :ohno

Your OP was beautiful, Glory. I wrote it off on a note to put in my sewing chest, where I keep all my 'important' papers from RR board. I want to leave a lot of things for my precious granddaughter to find some day, and this will be a perfect little note. :)

Then there is my son..26 and more than likely going to be filing for divorce soon.He says the people who have hurt him the most are those who say they are Christians.(Not that he thinks he is blameless and is struggling with his own beliefs right now)..but what he says is true...

:pray (for your son's marital situation)

Unfortunately, your son has a point. Some of the most unkind, egotistical people I have ever encountered are fellow Christians. We really do need to learn to treat each other with more respect.

Going back to Glory's original thoughts...I sometimes wonder if Christian men really want that Proverbs 31 type of woman? They say they do, but when she comes along they find something wrong with her. She's too plain, she's not exciting enough, she works too hard...you get the point. :tsk

Christian men (and women, as it can apply to a virtuous man also) really need to take this verse to heart when looking for a mate:

Proverbs 31:30 - Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Many christian men today expect their wives to work full time too. Which many christian women want to stay home and be mommy's and home school. That is something important which should be discussed BEFORE marriage.:nod

I have to agree that several christians have been meaner and more hurtful then any unbeliever I've known. How sad.:tsk

My son says girl's today want excitement. Always want to be going out places, and he's not like that. He also says they are always attracted to the same type of guys too (the very muscular more stout type). My son is tall and lean. :lol2

So I guess both genders are basically the same these days. HOWEVER, God has a remnant. Within that remnant are many single people devoted to HIM, who's hearts desire is for HIM to join them with the one whom He created to be their spouse for life!
