I saw gas prices today....some gas stations went up almost 10 cents here in a matter of days!.....do people even notice this anymore? do we dare drive? almost $70 to fill up my vehicle...

We had to trade in our 22 mpg vehicle for a Ford Focus this week. It is helping just a little, since hubby is getting 37-39 mpg on the interstate. He drives about 70 miles a day to work and back too. It is small, which is an adjustment, but I like it. It's a cute car and rides well. And since he works for Ford, we get A-plan, which helped with the cost of buying a new vehicle. I really hate to spend money right now on anything, but his old car was about worn out from all the driving anyway.
Gas is about 3.33-3.45 a gallon here in Indiana, but that is for unleaded. Diesel is more (around 3.87 I think), but not yet over 4.00 (knock on wood).

Just talked to a friend who runs a local Shell gas station in Cupertino, CA, the heart of Silicon Valley which is where I'm at. He told me that Shell told him that gas prices will definitely be around or over $4.00/gallon by summer and around $5.50/gallon by the election.
