I like the grasshopper series, you know, with Cain... The Shaolin priest who spends his days looking for his brother. A lot of the Jackie Chan movies are fun to watch.

Consider which style is of most interest to you.
Kung Fu is a very rounded style. Not very linear, but it definitely has its appeal.
Okinawan karate has a good mix of open hand and fist.
Kenpo has a mixture of open hand and some grappling maneuvers.(chinese)
We had a Kenpo artist in our organization and that guy happened to be really good.
I never saw anybody stand up to him very well. It's how you utilize what you know.
Tae Kwon Do initially majored on kicking 70-30, however, we here in the US have mixed kicking with upper body 50-50 and thrown other things in with it. It is mostly linear.
Shotokan has similarities with Tae Kwon Do but I enjoy watching them do their forms (katas) because they work very hard to keep them powerful and crisp.
There is also Aikido, Judo, Ju-juitsu, and others. Just depends on what floats your boat. Our masters all learned grappling black belts additionally because it's always good to have that in case you find yourself in close quarters or struggling on the ground.
