Nuggets of advice before you sell gold

What can I sell?

"We want anything that's gold," Oyster says, adding that last month a man came in with his father's old dentist box and sold the gold teeth and bridges for more than $10,000. Anything less than 10 karats, though, is less desirable to buyers. Broken jewelry and mismatched earrings are popular offerings right now, experts say.

Any gold and silver exchange and many jewelry stores are buying gold right now.

Unless you need the money, I'd advise holding onto the metal. It's worth more than the USD and will only gain in value while the paper you will get for it will only devalue.

Unless you take the odds and ends and sell them and turn around and buy gold / sliver coins, I am trying to save in small amounts that will be easier to use for purchases later, like silver dimes, ounces of sliver etc.

we have church at a local hotel, and some of the Sunday's we're there, the Gold Buyers are also there in diff't confrence rooms. I've been amazed at how many people are there selling whatever gold they have.
It's interesting. But also kind of sad. It seems a bit of desperation to part w/ their jewelry for a some extra money. it's the sad state of the economy we're currently in.

...and to think this might be only the start of a long-term economic disaster.

I can't help but think of this verse when I hear about the above article.

Ezekiel 7:19
They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be an unclean thing. Their silver and gold will not be able to save them in the day of the LORD's wrath. They will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it, for it has made them stumble into sin.
Food shortages are happening all over and that is what will be valuable eventually.

Is it better to buy the actual physical gold/silver piece and store at home, or is better to buy into the silver and gold electronically traded funds?

If you don't have the metal in your hand, you don't have the metal, only a piece of paper that's probably worth about the cost of a piece of paper.
