Maybe, just maybe, it's because President Bush is a christian as well as the President and he is just showing respect for the man.

We understand the differences between the RCC and evangelical churches, but the majority of the world does not - and it would seem like a slap in the face for our christian president not to warmly welcome the leader of probably the biggest "christian" faith in the world.
