We had tornadoes move through our area Friday afternoon which are pretty rare around here. My county and the county below us had about 4 f-2 tornadoes. There is some damage and barns, garages and roofs blown about, but noone was seriously injured.

I was actually on my way home from the town just north of us after taking my 2 year old to the doctor (nasty sinus infection). I also had my 9 and 7 year old DD's with me as well as my mother. They broke in on the radio to tell of the tornado warning, but gave it for the opposite end of the county where I lived.

As I got closer to home it looked worse and worse. I just wanted to get on home to get us to safety. All of a sudden I was in horrible rain, wind and hail. I had to pull over on the side of the road. It was impossible to drive, but it was not where I wanted to be during a tornado warning. The baby was sleeping (thankfully!), but the other 2 girls were scared to death and screaming. It felt like our van was going to overturn, but there was no where to go. Finally it subsided enough that I could get to my mothers house about 3 miles away.

I just learned today that a funnel cloud was spotted almost directly where we were sitting on the side of the road! I had so wanted to get us home to safety but, I feel in my push to get there that I actully put us in harms way.

Praising that not only my town, but my family is safe and sound as well.
