Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I just want to say I am so glad that I’ve found this forum. I’ve been reading (“Lurking” seems like an overly ominous term to me!) it regularly for the past couple years, just never bothered to register. Honestly I’m not sure what prompted me to do so now unless it’s perhaps to stand up and be counted among the redeemed who share their fellowship here.

This board has been such a source of strength, hope and inspiration to me and is such an awesome source of breaking news and current events. While it sometimes makes me sad to see, it is nevertheless both humbling and joyful to see Biblical prophecy almost literally unfolding before us. I see the pace quickening; this might be wishful thinking but…it’s a very different world we live in now then the one I remember as a small child and it seems like I’m not alone in feeling that.

My path getting here has been long and eventful. I have truly desired to lead a life pleasing to the Lord for just two years now, beginning when I finally reached my personal “breaking point” and surrendered my broken life and my humbled self-will to the care of God. I guess I’m fairly new at this but looking back it’s plain to see that Jesus has ALWAYS been with me and if I thought the darkness was too much to bear it’s because I had taken my eyes off HIM and insisted on trying to forge my OWN path; some of you all may know from personal experience how that generally ends up?

Suffice it to say that I am so thankful for the new, pure life Jesus has given me both here, now, in this fallen world and even more so in his everlasting kingdom to come! This former sinner is so grateful to call him “Abba” and accept his freely given, unwarranted grace! I’m looking forward to learning from and helping to build up my brethren here as we await the promise of his coming ....together.

Peace be upon you all!

Greg

Thanks for the welcome aboard everyone!

67X, too funny! Yes, it sounds like you know Scottsdale, home of the "Thirty thousand dollar millionaire!" nightclub scene, very well. It's not just a zip code; it's a state of mind. No offense taken I assure you. I actually work w/in walking distance of my apartment so that's a major selling point for me.
The rent is stupid high though.

Heartstorm; There sure is a lot of moving to various "tiny towns up North", my parents are looking at Prescott as their retirement paradise destination of choice; lots of beautiful scenery up North of "The Valley" and much more livable temps for sure.

Rickamedic; Another fellow Zonie, it’s a small world! I saw some of your colleagues doing their job on Squaw Peak today when I was hiking this morning; a young girl apparently fell (fainted, possibly from heat exhaustion) and hit her head, her family had her feet elevated and lying on the 2nd rock bench around the ¼ mile marker if you’re familiar w/ the trail, there was a crowd of people around her when I was on my up and coming down I ran into a crowd of Paramedics and firefighters bringing her down strapped to a carrier. About 5 fire trucks, emergency vehicles and a news team (I think it might have been channel 10) were in the parking lot at the base of the trail. I’ve been hiking that mountain since the early 80’s and that’s the first time I’ve ever seen that happen. It’s good to know there are folks that do what you do that have our back if we need it!

Everyone else; thanks again for the welcome and I’ll see you on the boards!

God bless,

Greg
