and if so do you attend any group near you for other women with chronic pain? I'm thinking of starting a women's group that live with chronic pain and need ideas by finding other's and get ideas.

This is a Christian web site for those of us who suffer from chronic pain. This is a safe place to talk about dealing with pain on a daily blessing. Sometimes, just to vent when a friend or loved one wants to compare their occasional headache to what you go through when you have not had a pain free day in 10 years. Yep, it can get frustrating dealing with people who do not know what it is like to not be able to take a walk with out having to take a pain pill when you get back home. But is not all about venting but about sharing sources and new treatments out there for pain.

hey Betty, I tried to register there and there is a code you have to type in. It says the zero has a slash through it. My zero on my computer doesn't have that slash and is not accepting my registration. Can you help me out there?

:hug There are quite a few of us here Freeper, who can empathize. I didn't have a good experience with support groups and like Betty said, after a while no one (even family) really wants to hear your complaints when they ask you how you are doing. Anymore, I just say-I'm doing fine and change the subject. I can't remember a single day I have been pain free in the last 10 years. I pray for our members here daily. I hope the site Betty offerred helps you and I am sure you'll find a kind shoulder here at RR too. :pray :hug

Me too. I've never participated in a support group, though. I read BNL's post and felt the recognition that yes, after a while no one wants to hear the same thing about pain. So we sometimes just live it quietly, looking fine on the outside maybe, but all the time thinking - "I'm in real pain!"

There are many of us here with chronic pain and I think we all understand...

Yet another thing that makes me look forward to my new body!!!

What kindof pain are we talking about???

I have chronic back and hip pain -- some months it's not so bad, others it's plain awful!! Luckily my hubby is pretty supportive.

I have chronic neck, shoulder, and chest pain. It is because of large chest. I am trying to lose weight to help. My insurance just denied my request for a breast reduction. I am constant migraines and nerve pain in the back of my head because of it.

I also have something called Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, and Piriformis syndrome. I am starting physical therapy for both. I'm sure most on here don't know what Pelvic Floor Dysfunction is but it is painful. I won't go into details because this is an open site for women and men, but the pain is muscles spasms in the pelvic floor and they irritate nerves. I have pudendal neuralgia because of it(biggest nerve in the pelvic floor). It was caused by childbirth, years of bad bathroom habits, and sitting for long periods of time. Yes, ladies, sitting at the computer's for long periods of time is bad for our bottoms.

If you want to know more you will have to PM me as I won't say anything more than that in public because it is a very private problem and not one to share with everyone.
