Hello all!

It's been a long time since I've posted. More changes have been made to the boards...

Anyway, I needed some advice on investing. I really need help in choosing companies that are faith friendly (i.e. companies that aren't supporting things I'd not support). Is there anyone here who has suggestions? Ideas as to how to go about finding a list of safe companies? I'm not asking anyone to do research for me, but if you know of any companies, corporations, etc, I'll look into them! I want to build a portfolio that I'm comfortable with.

Alcohol, tobacco, military types are definitely out. :)
McDonald's has recently supported the homosexual agenda...:faint
Ford has stopped, but given their history...

I did find an interesting one, Zion Oil and Gas. At least I have one thing...

Thanks for any help!
In Christ,
Destry

I earn any income I'm fortunate enough to get from investing. It's a tough business to be in. Limiting yourself to companies that are "faith friendly" just makes it more difficult to both support a company long term and eventually receive some earnings for your risk. I have stayed away from alcohol and tobacco related companies, not as a hard rule... I just have, at least to date, and I've been an investor now for just under 40 years.

I would suggest investigating the fundamentals of companies you might consider to be good investments, then if you think you might actually want to invest in any of those companies, go to their websites and look for any signs that would turn you off to them... google them and see what others say about them... you'll probably learn enough that way.

There are mutual funds that only invest in earth friendly companies, I don't know of any that invest on a basis of faith friendly, so you probably won't find help by looking into the investments of any specific mutual funds.

Wishing you success,

Thanks for the replies so far!

Might I prevail on an admin/mod to move this thread to the Economic forum? I bet I'd be bombarded then...:aha I don't want to duplicate a thread and possible incur the wrath of the aforementioned admins/mods.

Thanks!

Not endorsing. Just FYI. The Timothy Plan is a faith based mutual fund.
You can type timothyplan.com into your address bar.

Buy food.

Paper assets are exactly that, paper. In the grand scheme of things, food, or more generally tangible assets, is and are more valuable than a piece of paper.
