I'll try to make this short and to the point.

My neighbor and I used to have a good relationship. She is a strong christian like ourselves and we always got along. When my husband passed away, they gave me all the support I could have wished for. All in all, a good relationship.

Lately, her family has joined a new church, which is filled with false teachings.

About 2 months ago she told my youngest daughter that God failed (her words, not mine) to give animals souls so satan could get into them and attack people.

Imagine my 5 year old sweetheart terrified of sleeping alone 'cause maybe satan was inside the dog, or the goldfish!:ohno

She also told my oldest something much more disturbing: "Mommy, what's a "harlot"? Mrs. L says I'm a harlot 'cause I wear my Hello Kitty chapstick.":shocked

After this I went over to her house and polietly asked her to stop conveying this falsehood to my girls: we had a small argument, and I told her the girls wouldn't be allowed to go over to her house anymore. She shouted some insults and called me a satanist. Whatever.

Last night both my girls wanted to come into bed with me and when I asked why, they said Mrs. L told them the ghost of their father might come back, because he had surely been cast into hell. I asked why they thought she was right, and they said "daddy wasn't a preacher, only preachers go to heaven.":scratch

I am furious at this woman and don't know which way is best to get her to stop!

Any advice?

Definately stop her from being around your girls at all!

I wonder if you could get a restraining order against her. :scratch

That is awful! I don't understand how someone can truly have a relationship with Christ and then go off the deep end the way your neighbor appears to have done. Jesus has freed us from bondage and now she apparently wants your little girls to be in bondage to fear. Certainly you must pray for her and your girls. Also, ask God how He would have you handle this. Make certain that you are sharing the Truth with your girls everyday. You must keep myour kids away from this woman. If she continues even after you are doing all those things, I would ask God about getting a restraining order.

Sorry Lisaann. I didn't see your post. I agree that she may need to get a restraining order. If she violates the restraining order, there is legal recourse.

yes, Keep that woman away from your children. I would avoid her and would not say anything else to her. But pray for her to come to the truth. Prayer works better than any harsh words that may come between you. Explain to your children why you must not have contact with her and why they should pray for her each day.

Tell her that until the spirit of fear that Satan has put into her has been cast out and she gets back in the Bible and out of that cult, she will not be allowed near your children.

And put a restraining order on her.

Maybe it will shock her enough to actually think about what is going on in her new "church".

Is her church teaching these things? Or she is going crazy in her delusion?

She need help. I suggest if you send a pastor to talk to her. She need help with interpretting the bible before she get herself in deep trouble.

I agree with all the above posts

One thing you might do if you have to converse with her - Is ask her to show you just where in Scripture this stuff she is spouting off is written?

In the meantime, it might help if you can show your daughters that its not scriptural and that the Lady is in need of help and pray together with your daughters to help her.

You can't reason with some one who is irrational. Your neighbor sound pretty close to irrational. Instruct your daughters to run away when they see her and stay away from her house. If she follows or engages them in anyway, they should yell loudly for help to drive her away. If she's going to behave like a crazy person, treat her like one.
