Hello to you all. I am rather awkward with first introductions over a written medium (I am much more used to a hug or a handshake than a keyboard), so please bear with me on this. My name is Leila.
I will be forthright and truthful in saying that I have been raised in the Islamic faith since childhood and continue to practice the moderate existence of the American Muslim community.
At this point, it is likely that most are questioning why I should want to join a forum so obviously dealing with the Christian faith. To answer this let me say that I have always been curious of other faiths and religious practices. I have habitually found myself wandering into Christian churches and listening thoughtfully to the services.
Make no mistake in thinking that this curiosity makes me ripe for conversion, as I have no interest in changing my beliefs and would ask that any efforts to that goal end before they begin. To that same agreement, I will make no comment of my own faith without first being asked (so as to avoid spreading anything that might be considered propaganda) and will not criticize others for their beliefs about the Islamic community. I simply want to learn about the faith and perhaps ask a question or two every now and again.
I'll judge any response here as acceptance or refusal of my interests, though I ask you to remember that even your savior allowed the crumbs of salvation to fall to a gentile in need every now and again.
